September 2020 Release Notes

1. New archive:

Video archive interfaces were developed in 2015-2017 and have not changed for several years. During this time, we have significantly increased functionality, and the UX has not kept pace. Now we have finally worked on both userfriendliness and beauty. Until the end of the year, wait on all servers and log in through the customer's admin panel.

2. Improved translations of interfaces into Italian:

Translation into a foreign language, even if we talk about interfaces, is an art, and we are of course not professionals in this sphere. Therefore, we are happy to accept suggestions for improvements from local customers and partners. This time, an Italian university has recommended milder wording for informing students about violations.

3. Processing the error of sending photographs of documents to a session that has expired:

When a student's proctoring exam is interrupted for a technical reason, he/she can return within N minutes and continue to fulfill tasks. But to do this you need to go through all the verification steps again: check the computer, take a photograph, etc. This process takes a certain amount of time, and it is very annoying when the N minutes allotted for the resumption of the session expire exactly at the moment of photographing and sending the photo, and thus continuation of the exam becomes impossible. We have made changes to solve this problem. Now the system will either allow the user to continue passing the exam or inform him/her about the need to request a second attempt from the test organizers.

4. Shuttering in the absence of broadcasting in the asynchronous examination mode:

Shuttering” is a message to the student that something is going wrong. Different universities want to inform students about this in different ways. Some universities ask to terminate access to the exam; others, on the contrary, want to provide the opportunity to continue answering questions. We are working to ensure that each customer can customize the proctoring system for themselves, and this task is another step in this direction.

5. New product for online oral examinations - Examus Verbal:

Universities and students do not live on tests alone. Some exams are oral, and finally we have made a convenient solution for proctoring these exams. It is possible now to select exam papers, to prepare for an answer, to call students for an answer, to assess knowledge, and to ask additional questions by a commission of several people ...In general, we tried to organize the online exam as similarly to the traditional exam with a commission in the auditorium with as warm a university atmosphere as possible.

6. A new AI cyberproctor module on the server side contains a neural network with the ability to identify cell phones, headphones:

Artificial intelligence guards exams, and now we have learned to detect headphones and cell phones! This is now available in test mode and on a limited number of exams. If this feature is vital to you - ask us.

7. A separate API for the AI cyberproctor has been developed:

This is our internal work; we create a beautiful and convenient architecture for our solution.

8. Optimized scoring calculation for a new type of AI cyberproctor:

Based on the violations found, we calculate the probability that the student cheated. New algorithms in computer vision give us higher accuracy, hence we can improve the accuracy of our scoring.
