Remote work is a hot trend. How companies educate employees in pandemic conditions.

The coronavirus has changed the attitude of many employees to remote work.
Most of those who have tried home-office format not exactly raring to return to the classical office. In these conditions, companies face several difficult questions, and one of them is how to organize effective remote corporate education.

According to recent research, 65 percent of pandemic remote workers said they wanted to keep working from home and 58 percent even said they would look for a new job if they would have to return to the office. Obviously, remote work has pros not only for staff, but also for companies that can reduce the cost of renting and office services.

However, transformation of classical office work to home-office has its complexities. One of the main ones is that the effectiveness of corporate training may decrease. This carries several risks for corporations at once. Firstly, less qualified employees lose in efficiency to the stuff members of competing companies, and this may affect business performance. Secondly, for a number of positions related to the provision of urban, transport, energy and other infrastructure, the periodic tests are required to get specific permissions. If employees neglect this testings, the risks can be huge not only for the company, but also for the whole society.

The key problem is that during the online exam, which shows the level of knowledge and qualifications of employees, it is difficult to track how honestly employees pass it.

Today, one of the most effective ways to ensure the academic honesty of employees in exams – online proctoring implemention.

How Examus Proctoring works

Firstly, the employee enters the company's LMS system or the Examus website/application, where the equipment (computer/smartphone, Internet connection, camera and microphone) is tested for perfomance. Further, in order to access the exam, the test-taker pass the identity check. This is the first barrier for those who cheat. Due to identification, the possibility of employee swapping with another person is excluded. At the same time, identification continues throughout the entire exam – thus, it will not be possible to replace an employee during testing.

After that, the employee goes to the exam page, where his actions are closely monitored by artificial intelligence and proctor. Each customer chooses his own option: someone prefers to use both computer vision technology and a human proctor, someone wants only AI to monitor employees. If proctors detect an employee suspicious action, information about this will be sent to the company's server. Next, the proctors analyze the video of the exam and, based on it, decide whether the employee passed the test honestly or not.

To provide customers with the necessary flexibility, the Examus proctoring system works with open API. Developers can integrate Examus with almost any user identification technology. For example, last year, together with our partners, we created Luna Exam, a system for remote exams, which combines the best solutions of Examus and Vision Labs. Integration is also possible with any LMS and cloud storage that the company uses. Customers are also provided with an optional technical support: if necessary, Examus is ready to provide it 24/7.
